She grew up in Hamilton and spent much time in the outskirts of Chicago as youngster. Her parents Petar and Rada Katić are ethnic Serbs from the region Dalmatia in Croatia who emigrated from Yugoslavia to Canada. The family moved later to Aurora (Illinois) where she graduated at the West Aurora High School in 1996. She speaks English, Bosnian, Croatian, French, Italian and Serbian who holds the dual citizenship of Canada and the United States. 

She studied international law and global economics at the University of Toronto. She studied theater/film at the Goodman School of Drama in Chicago and took lessons in classical, stage, ballet, isshinryu karate and film combat. She studied acting at the Beverly Hills Playhouse acting school in Los Angeles before she begins with her movie career. She studied belly dancing at the Canadian Royal Dance Academy and advance scene study at the Columbia College.

She started an relation with Kris Brkljac in 2007 which ended in 2009 and had an relation with actor Nathan Fillion from march 2009 till december 2012. She started an relation again with Kris Brkljac in 2012 and the couple married on 26 april, 2015. They are still together and currently resides happy in Los Angeles with her husband.

She is very sportive in her younger years with Yoga, Baseball, Soccer, Basketball, Softball, Horse-riding and Swimming. She is also trained in Karate and knife fight techniques. She is an certified instructor in navy seal skills, especially for her role in the movie ''Stilleto''.

She started her own production company ''Sine Timore Productions'' in 2008. The translation of the company name is Latin for "without fear". She also started a project named "The Alternative Travel Project" in 2010.

Action TV series

She made her action debut as stewardess in two episodes of the action TV series ''Alias'' (2004) and played Lucienne Charmoli in one episode of the action TV series  ''JAG'' (2004). She played Rita Sullivan in one episode of the action TV series ''CSI: Miami'' (2007).

Action Movie Career

She plays Marianne and Dominiquie Vandenberg plays fighter Jack Severino who competes at the brutal Pit Fighting tournament in ''Pit Fighter'' (2005). His past follows him when he realizes that he must fight for redemption, in order to gain enough respect.

She plays the lead role as the mysterious Russian killer Raina Mavias next to Kelly Hu who plays the role of detective Hanover in ''Stilleto'' (2008). Raina follows members of a criminal organization with the goal to kill them one by one. The organization is led by Virgil (played by Tom Berenger) who a wealthy retired Greek mafia boss is. Raina knows him personally from the past and her first assassination attempt fails. Her betrayal breaks Virgil's heart, who hires a detective in order to find her before the police does.

She plays French martial arts expert Simone Renoir in this story about the fearless bookworm Flynn Carsen (played by Noah Wyle) who is searching for King Solomon's Mines and some of the world's most priceless relics in ''The Librarian: Curse of the Judas Chalice'' (2008). He goes on mission to recover the historic Judas Chalice when he is attacked by a relentless street gang who capture him, after he has been betrayed by the respected professor Professor Lazlo (played by Bruce Davidson) during his journey. Simone Renoir is sent by the people of the library who rescued him from a certain death. Flynn falls in love with the extreme beautiful Simone however she possesses a dark secret. She protects Flynn who uses a decrepit New Orleans crypt in order to find the remains of  Prince Vlad Dracul, the notorious Romanian prince, whose cruelty still the power has to frighten in the 15th Century.

She gets worldwide fame as Canadian agent Corrine Veneau next to Daniel Graig who plays the lead role as James Bond in the succesfull action movie ''Quantum of Solace'' (2008). Gemma Arterton plays MI6 Agent Strawberry Fields and Olga Kurylenko plays Bolivian agent Camille Montes who has her own vendetta. James Bond and "M" (played by Judi Dench) are hunting for a shadowy international network of power and corruption reaping billions. He's looking for the agents who did an assassination attempt on "M". All roads lead to Dominic Greene (played by Mathieu Amalric), a world-renowned developer of green technology. James gets the assignment to stop Dominic who secures a barren area of Bolivia with his men, with the intention to assist the strongman, who wants to commit a coup. 

She plays rookie police officer Morgenstern who also a skilled sharpshooter is in ''The Spirit'' (2008). She idolizes the ''Spirit'' (played by Gabriel Macht), a masked crime fighter who floats the shadows of Central City on a supernatural mission to keep the urban landscape safe. The Spirit is hunted by an resurrected cop who battles against villains whose quest for immortality threatens an entire metropolis.

She plays an short role as Amber in this story where the mysterious murder of a US senator, the distinctive trademark has of the legendary Soviet assassin Bozlovski (played by Tamer Hassan) in ''The Double'' (2011). An retired CIA operative Paul Shepherdson (played by Richard Gere) and rookie FBI agent, Ben Geary (played by Topher Grace) get the assignment to unravel the mystery.
